MEETING MINUTES
Regular Meeting of the Burlingame Parks & Recreation Commission
Thursday, September 18, 2014
The regular meeting of the Burlingame Parks & Recreation Commission was called to order by Chair
Lau at 7:00 pm at the Burlingame Recreation Center, 850 Burlingame Ave., Burlingame.
1. ROLL CALL
Commissioners Present: Lau, Eaton, Hesselgren, Colson
Commissioners Absent: Baum, Martin, Baird
Staff Present: Administrative Secretary Helley & Recreation Coordinator
Fuhrman
Others Present: Joe Dito, Burlingame; Charles Nordlinger, Burlingame
2. MINUTES
Approval of the Minutes of the August 21, 2014 regular meeting will be held until the October
Meeting.
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS
None
4. OLD BUSINESS
A. Ad Hoc Committee for Review of Parks & Recreation Department Mission Statement -
Helley reported the composition of the Committee is still in progress and the hope is to have a meeting
date set prior to the end of October.
5. NEW BUSINESS
a. Corrie Fuhrman — Recreation Coordinator — Corrie joins the Department from Foster City
and she currently is the Preschool Director and handles the Senior Programming.
6. REPORTS/HANDOUTS
a. Parks & Recreation Reports
1. Monthly Report —
a. Community Center Master Plan Update — The next phase of the Community
Center planning is the conceptual drawings and preliminary CEQA work.
b. Foundation Update — Colson reported the Bocce Tournament on October 18th
taking registrations and planning is ongoing.
c. Upcoming Events — The Pet Parade is on September 27th on Broadway. The Tree
Lighting is scheduled for Dec. 5th
b. Correspondence — None
c. Commissioner Reports — None

7. ADJOURNMENT
The next meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission is scheduled to be held on Thursday,
October 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Burlingame Recreation Center.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm.
