HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin - PR - 2016.04.21MEETING MINUTES Regular Meeting of the Burlingame Parks & Recreation Commission Thursday, April 21, 2016 The regular meeting of the Burlingame Parks & Recreation Commission was called to order by Chair Baird at 7:00 pm at the Burlingame Recreation Center, 850 Burlingame Ave, Burlingame. ROLL CALL Commissioners Present: Baird, Baum, Dito, Lewis, Schissler, Milne Commissioners Absent: Malekos Smith Staff Present: Parks & Recreation Director Glomstad, Administrative Assistant Helley, Others Present: None MINUTES The Minutes of the March 17, 2016 regular meeting were approved with the following correction: Add Commissioner Milne to "Commissioners Present". PUBLIC COMMENTS - None OLD BUSINESS - None NEW BUSINESS Heritage Park Use — Follow up Report on Activity — Director Glomstad reported there was very little activity in the park due to the weather being cooler. The Commission collectively asked to have a follow up report at the end of summer. Field Use Policy Ad Hoc Committee — Director Glomstad requested the Commission form an ad hoc committee to review and make recommendations on the Field Use Policy. Chair Baird stated that Commissioners Dito, Baum and Milne would be on the committee. The Committee will meet and report to the Commission at the May meeting. REPORTS / HAND-OUTS A) Parks & Recreation Department Reports 1. Monthly Report — a. Follow Up Items - None b. Items of Interest — Glomstad reminded the Commission of the Mission Impastable event on April 22 and the Streets Alive Event on April 24. She also reported the Dog Park Task Force met and discussed the development of the Cuernavaca and Skyline areas. More information will be brought back to the Commission. Chair Baird reported the CAC met regarding the Community Center Development Project to review the conceptual designs. The plan is to bring the designs to Council in the fall. Progress of the process to date can be found on the City website. c. Foundation Update — None B) Correspondence —None C) Commissioners Reports — Commissioner Milne reported his attendance at a presentation for the development at the previous movie theatre property in Burlingame. Parks & Recreation Commission Minutes April 21, 2016 FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS None NEXT MEETING The next meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission is scheduled to be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Burlingame Recreation Center.
