' OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
BURLING HE PUBLIC LIBRARY HELD
DECEMBER. 7th,1949, AT 7:303 P.M-
ROLL CALL Trustees Present: Mrs. Johnson (president pro tem), Mssrs. Burns and Fichtner
Trustees Absent: Mssrs. Reynolds and Raymond
MINUTES Minutes of the regular meeting of November 2nd and of the special meeting
of November 9th were approved as read.
BILLS Upon motion of Mr. Fichtner with the second by I1r. Burns, the bills -to the
sum of :5052.36 were ordered paid. Upon motion of 11r. _Burns with the second
by Mr. Fichtner, periodical subscriptions to the amount of 48,..25 -were
ordered paid.
LIBRARIAN'S Upon motion of ?fir. Burnswith the second by Mr. Fichtner, the Librarian's
REPORT report was accepted as read, after especial attention had been given to
the statistics sheet thereof.
OLD .then it was pointed out that the furnace room door still had not been properly
BUSINESS hung (as was pointed out in the Fire Marshall's report of last October), Mr.
Fichtner declared that the matter would receive his personal attention.
The Librarian was instructed to inquire as to the whereabouts of a certain
gas plate for the staff kitchen and of certain elecrical fixtures which the
Library had paid for. Both of these items are sup-�osedly in the possessilm
of the City. Engineer. The Librarian was also to inquire about the installation
of the electrical outlet in the main reading room floor -- promised long ago.
The Librarian was instructed to investigate as to the cost of soda-acid fire
extinguishers and annual servicing of same as provided by a commercial firm.
' These were to have been provided by the City (as per Fire Marshall's rppafbt
of last October), but it was felt that new equipment would be better than
surplus purchases.
The project for establishing the basement room as a work room advanced further
when Mr. Burns declared that he would find a source of carpetting with which
to cover the floor (concrete).
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned so that the members
could make a tour of the Libraz7 building.
