OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
BURLINGAME PUBLIC LIBRARY HELD

ROLL CALL Trustees Present: President Reynolds, Mrs. Johnson, and Mr. Fichtner
Trustees Absent: Mssrs. Burns and Raymond
MINUTES Minutes of the regular meeting of January 4th, 1950, were read and approved.
BILLS Bills amounting to $4351.22 were ordered paid upon motion of Mrs. Johnson
with the second by Mr. Fichtner.
REPORTS The Librarian presented the monthly report, pointed out the new paper
publicity, read copies of the letters of thanks written to the City
Council and the City Attorney, and announced the arrival of the neer
cases for the public catalog equipment.
Mr. Fichtner announced the acquisition of fire extinguishers for the
Main Library and stated that there was no charge: they were from the
City Fire Departments supply.
As Mr. Burns was not present, there was no report on the manner in which
San Francisco Public Library handles its fines on overdue books.
PERSONNEL The resignation of Miss Marguerite E. Hartung was accepted upon motion of
Mrs. Johnson with the second by Mr. Fichtner.
McLean announced the temporary appointment of Eugene M. Butterfield to
the position of Stenographer-Clerk, a position recently vacated by Mrs.
Harriett M( Meuuel for maternity reasons. .
McLean was ordered to supply first aid materials to the Library's supply
cabinet for the use of the staff and to post the necessary information re
the State Compensation Act for workers.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
