FLARRISON, idssrs. FICHTINER, & TEAL Trustees Absent: ;:Sr. BURPS iliuiL13 The minutes of larch 1st, 1950 were read and apTroved. The Librarian's report, as given on the statistics page of the monthly report, was ordered accepted upon motion of :dr. TEAL with the second by 14r. FICI-12NER. BILLS Warrants to the sum of `3611;.73 were ordered paid upon motion of Mrs. 11A.11RISOii with the second by 1.4r. FIC-11M. OLD BUSI"ESS The consideration of the Tine schedule and the non-resident fees was tabled because of the absence of Mr. BURPS. The Librarian reported that the inventory was proceeding frith all diligence. The Board made the request that the inventory be concluded by the June meeting. U:on motion of Mr. FICi-TIK 2 with the second b r 2.1r. TEAL, the Librarian was ordered to order the fluorescent lighting fixtures from Phillips & Edwards Electrical Corooration of San Francisco (29 units) as per their bid of :Iarch 2nd, 1950. And (part II of same motion) to tell Andersen's Electric Co. of Burlingame that their bid to install said fixtures at the charge of X6.00 per unit had been accepted. Installation could be- gin at once, as there are tiro boxes (four units) in the Library already. NZ.11 BUSI`ESS The Board agreed that the creek of April 17th would be designated as "F-213IMESS 'JEEn" during whith a moratorium on all fines will be in affect; i.e., all Burlingame Public Library boons which are overdue may be returned rrith no questions asked insofar as overdue penalties are concerned. Effective April 17th, "Special Request" postal cards will cost the user five cents instead of two cents as in the past. The lower figure was a service at cost of materials only. The nem, price will help offset some of the labor involved. PE?ORTS The Easton Branch is to be used as a polls in the May 19th school elections. This will be possible by letting the officials use the front furnace room and locking off the Library proper wit*he inner double doors. City Engineer's Department: Work complbted on building to date since last report includes the installation of the floor electric outlet in the main reading room, installation of a storage hot Crater heater, and a signal light at the charging desk ore rated from the Librarian's office. Following the agjourrnnent the Librarian used his equin ent to shorn the Board a 20-minute movingpicture, "The Telephone Hour," and received the Board's approval to shuir such movies in the Library each Friday till June.
