BURLINGA10 PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD

The minutes of the October 10 meeting were read and approved.
BILLS:
On motion by Mr. Fichtner, seconded by Mrs. Harrison, the
bills in the amount of $2,918.62 were ordered paid.
The librarian's report was accepted and the monthly
financial statement approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
Civil Service Commission: The Civil Service Commission
will be requested to establish the date for a proposed
examination for Library Aide and Senior Librarian at the
discretion of the librarian. The librarian reported that
we now have a temporary Senior Librarian (reference) and
a satisfactory local resident as Library Aide, who has
had a good deal of experience and some technical training.
NEW BUSINESS:
The Kirkbride gift and the discussion of book deposits
were both set over until more members of the board are
present.
it was suggested that the board establish a checking
account for the librarian, as it is not deemed feasible
that he have to use his personal money to carry on the
work of the library.
The Librarian was requested to write letters of thanks
to the Auxiliary of the American Legion, attention of
Mrs. Lancaster, for the new flag given the library; to
Chief Leis for his part in straitening and painting the
flag pole; to Charles Wilson for erecting it; and to
Mr. Platt for rescuing the flag pole from the dump and
bringing it to the attention of the City.

ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting adjourned on motion by Mrs. Harrison,
seconded by Mr. Fichtner.
