BURLINGAME PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD
February 14, 1952
Trustees present: President Johnson, Mrs. Harrison, Mr. Fichtner
Mr. Crosby
BILLS: On motion by Mr. Crosby, seconded by Mr. Fichtner, the
bills in the amount of $1,687.64 were ordered paid.
The librarian's report for the months of January and
February were accepted and the financial statements for
the two months were approved.
OLD BUSINESS
Civil Service: It was left to the discretion of the
librarian whether or not a promotional examination be
given for Assistant Librarian, :with the understanding
that Mary Jane WUelbasky be the only qualified person.
It was futher agreed that at some future time an
examination for Library bide and Senior Librarian would
be given.
By-laws: Additional changes were made in the by-laws.
It was agreed that a secretary:pro tem would be appainted
H in the absence of the secretary; and therefore any two
members might sign the checks. It was also agreed that
the regular meeting of the library board would be on the
fourth Wednesday of the month.
Drinking fountain: The situation was clarified by the
adjustment of the fountains in the restroo.ms for maxi-
mum delivery of water without splashing.
NTEX BUSINESS ,
Over-due books: Second notices will henceforth be
postcards.
Notices when cards expire will no longer be sent.
Non-residents will no longer be given duplicate cards.
Patrons working on contests should not be helped any
more than necessary.
Library publicity: The Board approved of the pamphlet
submitted by Mrs. Luke, and it was left to the d.is-
cretion of the librarian as to how the pamphlet should
be printed up.
Budget: Due to the lateness of the hour, the budget
as not discussed.
ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting adjourned on motion by Mr. Fichtner, seconded
by Mrs. Harrison.
