BURLINGAME PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD
March 26, 1952
Trustees present: President Johnson, Mrs. Harrison, Mir. Burns,
Mir. Fichtner
MINUTES
The minutes of the February 14 board meeting were read
and approved.
BILLS On motion by Mr. Fichtner, seconded. by Mr. Burns, the
bills in the amount of $1,565.14 were ordered paid..
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
The librarian's report for the month of February was
accepted. and the financial statement for the month.
was approved.
OLD BUSINESS
The offer of a more lucrative position to Miss Welbasky
was discussed, and it was decided that an inquiry should
be made of the Civil Service Commission as to what
bracket she would be in if she accepted the position of
Assistant Librarian.
COMMiUNICA'TIONS
The letter from Miss Fern Harvey, head of the English
Department at the high school, was read congratulating
the library for its open house.
The secretary was requested to send a letter of thanks to
Mr. Herbert Gray for his newspaper collection. A letter
is also to be sent to Mr. Taylor thanking him for his
record collection.
NEW BUSINESS
On a motion by Mr. Fichtner, seconded by Mr. Burns,
the librarian was authorized to open a special checking
account to cover the Kirkbrid.e gift.
The Library Board requested the librarian to extend its
commendations to the staff for its splendid work on the
open house.
The tentative budget was submitted and briefly studied—
further study to take place at the next meeting of the

board.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned. on motion by Mr. Burns, seconded
by MIr Fichtner.
