The Librarian's re-)ort for the month of Iiay was accepted
and the financial state.^ont- for tno month eras approved.

Council and that most paints in the bud ,et were acceiatable
to them, with the possible e. ce-otion of the ai:ount for

lar_eous fund which they propose to divide into three
sections--ono conventions, one -travel, and the rest to „o
into supplies. Discussion of capital expenditures. The
arount for display tables was questioned and possibly
deleted. The other iters aero discuss_-d but no action was
taken. The Librarian was 1.nformed by the -3oard that the
bud et as the,- anorotied of :it would be submitted to him in

as soon as the tentative bud-et was received from the City

Librarian explained the revised, sum-?ested salary scale
based on the correspondin^ hirnh-school salary schedule.

Club in re_,ard to the iriprovement of the Children's Room

If the Lions Club should decide a7ainst this project, it

Rooi will be created in its place instead. As these rooms
would be separate from the main Children's Room and the :;lain
i7 cadin7 Rooi i, a Suitable type of furniture and draperies
could be installed that would be of sound construction but
not nearly as expensive as the furniture of the main rooms.

would be allowed to open from 10-12 a.m. during the sumer
in order to accommodate the anticipated influx of children
to the reading club. The Dain Libraryls hours will remain
the same, except during the summer it will be closed on
. Sunday.

The gift of a duplicating machine from Mr. Roland Jensen
was aceebted with appreciation and the secretary of 'the
Board was instructed to write,,a letter of thanks to him.
