RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AWARDING
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO SHAW PIPELINE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO SIGN AGREEMENT FOR CITY PROJECT NO. 80770 —
BURLINGHOME EASTON PHASE I WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, the City is beginning a multi-year capital improvement program for the City's
potable water system, and the first major project involves the replacement of the water mains in the
Burlinghome and Easton Subdivisions; and
WHEREAS, the City duly advertised the project for public bids; and
WHEREAS, on May 23, 2003, the City opened bids on the project, and Shaw Pipeline is
the lowest responsible bidder on the project; and
WHEREAS, the contract should be awarded to Shaw Pipeline; and
WHEREAS, the unit prices under the bid submitted are favorable and consideration should
be given to extending the work under the improvement program
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED:
1. The bid submitted by Shaw Pipeline in the amount of $1,908,762 is accepted.
2. The Agreement with Shaw Pipeline attached hereto as Exhibit A is approved, and the
City Manager is authorized to execute the Agreement for and on behalf of the City of Burlingame.
3. The City Clerk is directed to witness the Manager's signature on behalf of the City.
4. The Director of Public Works is authorized to extend the contract to include additional
work as provided in the Contract Documents.
I, DORIS MORTENSEN, Deputy City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, do hereby certify
that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 7th
day of July , 2003, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
