BURLINaAIME PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD

Trustees present; President--heirs. Johnson, Mr. Fichtner, Mr. Burns,
Mr. Cargill, Mrs. Damm.
MINUTES
The minutes of the previous meeting of September 16, 1953,
were read and approved.
BILLS
On a motion by Mrs. Damm, seconded by Mr. Fichtner, the bills
in the amount of $2,670.43 were ordered paid.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
The Librarian's report was accepted and the financial state-
ment was approved.
OLD BUSINESS
Walk. A short walk was built in front of the library for $50.
Moving main 'desk. The main desk has not as yet been moved
through the enability to obtain bids for the replacement of
the linoleum.
Flag. A new flag was purchased from the Pioneer Flag Co.
for $6.00. It seems to be very definitely a better grade
flag than the other flags we have had, at ;less cost. `
COMMUN I CAT 1 ONS
A letter was received from the Public Library of South San
Francisco inviting the Librarian and staff to attend an
open house on Thursday evening, October 22. The Librarian
was instructed to attend.
NEW BUSINESS
Attendance at Council meetings. It was decided that Mr.
Lechich would attend one of the two regular Council meetings
held during the month. Mr. Fichtner and Mr. Burns believe
that members of the Board should attend the Council meetings
wheneverpossible.
Holidays. After some discussion, it was decided that the
Library will be closed only at such times as the schools
are closed, and that the subsequent time off for those who
work on the days that the City Hall observes as a holiday
will be taken at some future time when the schools are not
in session.
