BURLINGAME PUBLIC LIBRARY
Jibrariants Report on Activities in the Library
March. 17, 1954 - April 21, 1954
Peninsula Librarians' Meeting;
A meeting of the Peninsula Librarians' group was held at the Redwood
City Public Library; and there was a discussion of cooperative methods
to be used in expediting the use of the facilities of the various
public Libraries in the area, and to perhaps find some way to allow
a greater spread of the money put out for the purchase of less-used
books,
Radio Program
The librarian, as a member of the committee on the radio program of
the Library Executives of Central California, attended a meeting of
the committee to discuss the future of this quite successful program,
RCBS hopes to continue the program during the summer,
Branch Repairg
The repairs made to prevent seepage under the Branch were most
successful, as there was no damage apparent after the last heavy
rains. This repair should also eliminate added expense in the
future for the repair of dry rot and other causes of wood decay
under the building.
Circulation
Our patrons continue to use the library at an increasing rate,
Parking Situation
The proposed changes on Bellevue Avenue will make the distances
for parking. cars for the library personnel much greater than at
present. It is hoped that some solution will be worked out so that
a small parking area may be constructed at the back of the library.
Juvenile Department
March 22, 1954, a troop of Brownie Scouts, the third grade from
St, Catherine's School, visited the Library,
March 25, 1954, two second grade classes from the Hoover School

Odell supervised the group, as it was Miss Welbaskyts day off.
