OLD B SIiNESS
Suns. The Librarian stated that the cost of the signs to be
located on Burlingame Ave, had not been determined, nor had the
City Engineer reported on the status of signs on the highway.
NETV BUSINESS'
Holidays. It was the opinion of the Board members present that
holidays on which the City Hall is closed and the library is
open should be allowed to accumulate and be taken during vacation
periods, in order to keep the regular schedule from becoming
overly complicated, which inevitably results when staff members
must, of necessity, take their allowed time off during the month
of the holiday. As the library is open 75 hours per week,
Sundays included, the necessity of staffing it for such long
periods results in a very complicated schedule which only becomes
more so when holidays are taken during the month that the holidays
occur. However, when holidays are allowed to accumulate during,
or until vacation time, as school is not in session at such time,
the strain on the staff is much less and it is easier to plan
schedules with known people on vacation than it is to hit or miss
grant days off,
Hedge. No action was taken on the request of Mrs. Butcher on the
removal of the hedge between the library and the Butcher property
as we have not, as yet, received the report of the City Engineer.
ADJOURN,=T
It was moved by Mr. Fichtner, seconded by Mrs. Dar,=, that :the
meeting be adjourned.
