BURLIN GAME PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD
JANUARY 16, 1957
Trustees Present: Mrs. Harrison, Mrs. Cohendet, Far. Cargill, Iv:r. Edwards.
Trustees Absent: Mr. Crosby
MINUTES
The minutes of the previous meeting of December 19, 1956 were read and approved.
BILLS
On a motion made by F?r. Edwards and seconded by Mrs. Cohendet, bills in the
amount of X2,419.02 were ordered paid.
LIBRARIAN'S RE'PORT
The Librariants report was read and accepted and the financial statement was
approved and placed on file.
OLD BUSINESS
New Branch Site. Mr. Edwards was appointed by the Chairman to replace Mr. Burns
on the co ee fcr the procurement of a site for a new branch library in the
Mills Estate area; the Librarian is to brief Mr. Edwards.
Non-Resident Membership by Contract. The Librarian reported that he had written
a letter of explanation Congressman Younger in regard to the Library Service
Act, and possible benefits that might concur to this library. A copy of this
letter was sent to the State Librarian and to Lrx. Stiene, City Manager of Hills-
borough.
Stack Addition. The Chairman appointed Mr. Edwards and T&s. Cohendet to act as
a connittee to expedite the proposed stack addition to the Main Library.
Library Aid. It was moved by TIW. Edwards and seconded by Nrs. Cohendet that the
library request a Civil Service examination for a library aid, to be held in
April 1957.
Stand-b Pump. It was moved by Mr. Cargill and seconded by lir. Edwards that the
L1 r`arian purc ase a water ejector pump if he deems it advisable, to be so in-
stalled in the sump in the boiler room. In the event of failure of the electric
pump, an ejector pump would take over.

On a motion by Mr. Edwards and seconded by Mrs. Cohendet, the meeting was
adjourned.
