The combined Boards met in the Henderson Library of the INTIcKinle7 School.
President J. Burns spoke at length on the need of the Elementary School
for all of its present property.
Mr. Edwards, as Chairman of the Library Board's Committee on Site Acquisition,
detailed the needs of the Library.
The general discussion which followed, brou ht forth the following points:
The Library could use a minimam site of 10,000 sq. feet with the possibility
of a site no larger than a building of 6,000 sq. feet would require.
That in all probability the building should be contiguous to either the
Intermediate School or the Elementary School.
Mr. 1;'hite suggested that future discussions be delayed until such time as
the school architect finished in detail the present plans, and that actual model
structures be developed in order to show the placement of the structures.
Mr. Burns seemed to be of the firm opinion that the school could not spare
the land, but the three other mersbers dial not necessarily agree and seemed to have
more open minds.
Financial considerations were briefly mentioned, but no conclusions were
arrived at with the exception, namely, the price should be proportionate to the
actu,-1 coat of the property to the Elementary School Board.
