Trustees Present; Mrs. Harrison, Mrs. Cohendet, Mr. Crosby, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Moody.
Also present, members of the ,Elementary School oard, ;Ir. Ray

The minutes of the previous meeting of January 13, 1958 were read and approved.
BILLS
On a motion by ".;rs. Cohendet, seconded by Mr. Edwards, bills in the amount of
y1,807.92 were ordered paid.
LIBRARIANIS REPORT
The Librarian's report was read and accepted.

The financial statement was approved and placed on file.

Members of the Elementary School Board, Mr. Ray Burns, Mr. Beaumont,John P. Cuneo/
Superintendent :11hite were present. There was an extended discussion of the
possibility of the library using a small portion of the elementary school property,
located at the corner of Qaesada & Truesdale, known as the Franklin School. It was
agreed that I;ir. Mite, P,Zr. Lechich and the school architect would meet and discuss
the library needs, and that the architect would then consult with the elementary
school board in regard to the possibility of the use of this property; the school
board will then consider the case and give the library board their decision.
OLD BUSINESS
New Bra_nch' Site. The new branch site was taken up at the beginning of the agenda,
due to the presence of the Elementary School Board.
Stacks Extension. A letter was read from. the California State Library stating that
a friendly suit would in all probability be desirable at this time, and that they
felt the legislature would correct any ambiguity in the 1959 session.
COMMUNICATIONS
A letter was received from the Peninsula Art Association requesting a decision as to
the use of the facilities of the library in the continuance of theyhanging of their
paintings. After considerable discussion it was moved by Mr. Edwards and seconded
by r. Iiioody, that the Clerk of the Board reply to the Peninsula Art Association's
letter to the effect that we would continue to serve all local groups and that vie
hope to continue our pleasant relations with the Peninsula Art Association.
A letter was received from the Redwood City Public Library concerning the leasing
for 50 years at a cost of xl per year of certain branch properties in Redwood. City.
This letter was previously read at the time of the discussion of the branch site.

Safe Burglar Insurance. It was moved by Mr. Edwards and seconded by drs. Harrison
that the librarian contract to tale out insurance to cover any damage or loss that
might develop from future robberies. friends of the Library. it"rs. Cohendet
reported that at the Friends of the Library meeting of Feb. 23th the librarian would
discuss various aspects of library 1�oblems.
ADJOUR1,111ENT On a motion by Mr. Edwards, seconded by �Ir. Moody, the meeting was
adjourned at 1Ot30.
