he minutes of the previous meeting of May 21, 1958, were read and approved.
BILLS
nn'a motion by Mr. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Moody, bills in the amount of x,571.82
were ordered paid.
LIBRARIANtS REPORT
The Librarians report was read and accepted.

OITD BUSINESS
Tot. Pairs. Cohendet, Pars. Harrison and lir, Moody reported that they had attended
e city council meeting June 15, 1958, and had protested the fact that an allotment
for the construction of the stacks extension in the form of a sinking fund had not
been mentioned in the budget. There was an extended discussion on the type and
amount of fund desired. It was finally agreed on a motion by Mr. Edwards, seconded
by ir. Moody, that a financial committee be formed to contact the city manager, and
others if necessary,. in regard to the sinning fund. It seemed that the majority of
the Board expressed a strong desire for a 10 cent tars apportionment in order to
facilitate the constrAction of the building for the extension as soon as legislative
action permits same. Mr. Crosby appointed 'Mr. Moody, Mr. Edwards and himself to
_ serve on a committee.

A Ietter_From the Trtutees Section of the A.L.A. in regard to support of the program
during the convention. It was moved by Mrs. Cohendet, seconded by Mr. Moody that
10.00 be appropriated.
A letter of resignation was read from Miss Sinex stating that she was resigning as
of June 30th to accept a position as senior librarian in Santa Clara. The Librarian
stated that the resignation date must be July 15th in order to allow for vacation
due her. It was moved by Mr. Edwards, seconded by Mrs. Harrison that the Board accept
her resignation and asked the Librarian to write her a letter so stating and compli-
menting her
ompli-menting ,her on her nein: position.
NEN BUSINESS
Examination for Junior Librarian. It was moved by Mr. :woody, seconded by Pair. Edwards
that the Librarian request an examination at some future date from the Civil Service
Comnission for the position as Junior Librarian.
The Board wished the Librarian to acknowledge Mrs. Jones, letter to the PIayor -regarding
the library and to send the Mayor a copy.
ADJOTJM3MIT On a motion by P;ir. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Doody, the meeting was
adjourned, with the statement that the following meeting will take place July 8, at
7.30.
