Mr. Crosby attended the meeting at the Benjamin Franklin School. Trustees Absent; Mr. Edwards, Mr. Crosby. IVI I NUTS S The m nutes of the previous meeting of September 16, 1958, were read and approved.. BILLS On a motion by Mr. Moody, seconded by firs. Harrison, bills in the amount of $2,026.35 were ordered paid. LIBRARIANtS REPORT The Librarian's Report was read and accepted. MONTHLY FINANCIAL STATEMENT The financial sta ement was approved and placed on file. OLD BUSINESS Stacks Extension - Selection of Architect. It was moved by Mrs. Harrison and seconded y Mr. Moo y t at 1VIr. Tor-berg- asked to appear at the next Board meeting. Branch Site. Discussion will be postponed until the next Board meeting. High School Cooperation. There was a brief discussion of the Mills High School library and the degree to which the library should cooperate with the school. . Pairs. Cohendet stated that the school was thoroughly cognizant of our problems and would make as few assignments as possible. Publicit . It was decided that the library should issue a small printed booklet concerning the library and its use, to be distributed throughout the community. NRIN BUSINESS Appointment of Assistant Librarian. It was moved by Mr. Moody, seconded by Mrs. Harrison, that Mr. Dennis Finney, whose name was submitted by the Civil Service Commission, be appointed Assistant Librarian, the appointment to be effective as soon as can be arranged. Convention. It was moved by Mr. Oloody, seconded. by Mrs. Harrison, that Mrs. Cohendet, Mr. Lechich and Mr. Finney represent the library at the convention. ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Pars. Harrison, seconded by Mr. Moody, that the meeting adjourn to the elementary school board meeting at which time there would be a discussion of the branch site. The meeting reconvened at the Pershing Elementary School in joint session with the Elementary School Board. After a discussion of the branch site, the Elementary School Board moved that a site at the Southwest corner of the Benjamin Franklin School be reserved for future use by the library for a building of approximately 5,000 square feet, details to be arranged later.
