APRIL 28, 1959
The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. ;arrison.
Trustees Present: 'rs. Cohendet, Mrs. Harrison, Mr. Crosby, tir. Edwards, 1;4r. Moody.
MINUTES
Minutes of the previous meeting of March 17, 1959, were read and approved.
BILLS
Ona motion by 'Mrs. Harrison, seconded by Pair. Moody, bills in the amount of x3,357.05
were ordered paid.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
The L rarian s report was read and accepted.
PATO==THLY FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The financial statement was approved and placed on file.
OLD BUSINESS
T e Li rarTEn referred to the Librarian's report in which hestated that Tars. Cohendet
and he had attended the meeting of the Education Committee of the Assembly of the
State of California, at which time various library connected bills were taken up
and which our own particular bill io. 1989 was recommended to the Assembly for
passage. There was a discussion of the Assembly Bill 1985 Library Services Act,
at which time the Librarian stated that a letter to Senators Dolwig and Francis
statin; our action of our meeting of February 17th had been sent to our state repre-
sentatives.
NEW BUSINESS
her�fa ar-Tan reported that part of a gLft of the bions Club of 250 copies of "Best
Boobs for Children" had been distributed to Burlingame elementary schools and that
a life number would be distributed to the Hillsborough schools.
Trustees Meeting. Pairs, Cohendet announced that on May 25th there was to be a trustees
meeting of he greater Bay Area to take place in San Francisco. A panel will discuss
"Are library commissions really necessary?".
Budget. The budget was discussed and, due to the time limitation a motion was made
by Mr. Edwards, seconded by TW. Moody, that a committee be appointed by the chairman
of the board to thoroughly scrutinize the budget - their decision to be accepted by
the board as a vrhole. Mrs. Cohendet appointed Mrs. Harrison and 'r. Crosby to act
on this committee.
Leave of absence of Mrs. Foltz. A leave without pay was granted for two weeks to
Mrs. Foltz.

On a motion by Mr. Crosby, seconded by Mr. Moody, the meeting adjourned.
COMMITTEE MEETING ON THE BUDGETAPRIL 29, 1959.
The budget was thoroughly discussed and approved by the committee. The budget
will be submitted to the City Manager and the City Council as presented.
