Trustees Absent: Trustee Moody. Trustee Harrison was excused from the meeting because of illness. MINUTES Minutes of the previous meeting of July 21, 1959 were read and approved. BILLS a motion by Trustee Crosby, seconded by Trustee Edwards, bills in the amount of $4,006.34 were ordered paid. M LIBRARIANtS REPORT T.Ee rar an s"report was read and accepted. MONTHLY FINANCIAL STATEAMPIT e rinanclal statement was approved and placed on file. OLD BUS TRESS McZs tension. The me=4 as submitted by E. I. Norberg, were studied and approved as submitted on a motion by Trustee Crosby, seconded by Trustee Edwards and carried. NEW BUSINESS Zons`trucEl of Addition. Trustee Edwards moved that a letter be directed to e City Council requesting the City Council to authorize the Library Board to call for bids on the construction of the addition to the Main Library and to open said bids and to recommend to the Council the award of the bid to the lowest responsible bidder. The motion was seconded by Trustee Crosby and carried. It was agreed that the bids would be opened at the next regular meeting of the Library Board on September 15, 1959. Replacement of Childrents- Librarian. As Mrs. Foltz has indicated her intention o resign as soon as a rep acemen is available, the Librarian requested the -Board for permission to ask the Civil Service Commission for an examination. Trustee Edwards moved that the Librarian take whatever steps are necessary to replace Mrs Foltz with an experienced Children's Librarian. The motion was seconded by Trustee Crosby and carried. Letter to D.A.R. Pres. Cohendet requested the Librarian to write a thank you IeEter to theD.A.R. for the donation of $10.00 towards the framing of the portraits of Anson Burlingame.
