Cohendet, Trustee Crosby, Trustee Moody, Trustee Edwards Trustees Absent: Trustee Harrison MINUTES Mi .-TE—es of the previous meeting of March 15, 1960, were read and approved. BILLS On a motion by Trustee Edwards, seconded by Trustee Moody, bills in the amount of 013,954.67 were ordered paid. LIBRARIANIS REPORT The Li rariants report was read and accepted. MONTHLY FINANCIAL STATEtIrNT The nancial s a emen was approved and placed on file. OLD BUSINESS The Librarian stated that by now the large mass of books have been reshelved in their proper position. Duplicate copies that have not been added to our collection have been moved to the closed-in area of the basement addition. He stated it is hoped that in the following weeks to move such unbound magazines as deemed necessary,. to the main floor caved area; reorganize the section below the workroom into a magazine storage area, and the room below the office into a receiving and preparations room. Open House to commemorate the completion and official opening of the addition to the Stacks, and the new Reference Room, was held Sunday afternoon, April 3rd, at 3:45. The event, hosted by Friends of the Library, also marked the commencement of National Library Week, and was attended by between three and four hundred people,�, , Mrs. Cohendet presided, receiving two new flags from Commander Edward Rocca, Commander of the local Post of the American Legion. She praised Paul Lechich for his dedicated efforts on the library's behalf, and presented: Mayor Charlotte Johnson, who made the official dedication of, and welcome to the new library additions. A musical program was offered by the Mercy Him String Orchestra, followed by refreshments, to which Mrs. Armsby had contributed financially, in the Reference Room. Architect Norberg was present, as was former Library Board President, A. B. Cargill, and Vim. Gillam, donor of several paintings to the library. Contractor Morris Daley, who Mrs. Cohendet pointed out, finished ahead of schedule was unable to be on hand. Mrs. Cohendet reported briefly on the Governor's Conference. NEW BUSINESS Bu gc�_e�. A`Eentative budget was discussed and it was moved by Trustee Edwards, seconded by Trustee Crosby that the tentative budget as presented, with possible minor changes to be made later, be approved. Motion was carried. Pres. Cohendet stated that a letter should be written to the Friends of the Library in appreciation for their efforts in behalf of the library. CO=DUNICATIONS A letter from Col. Norberg was received which contained the following documents: Certificate for payment in full in duplicate; Morris Daley's payment request in trip- licate; itemized breakdown of extras sn d credits in triplicate; guarantee for roofing & waterproofing in duplicate; guarantee for sheet metal, heating & plumbing in duplicate. After some discussion, in which it was shown that we had received $326.51 credit on the contract, the final check for Morris Daley, Inc. was signed. Upon rereading the letter of March 3rd from E. L. Norberg, Architect, it was agreed to accept a certificate as to the completion as adequate. ADJOURNMENT: Tiem-ie ng adjourned on a motion by Trustee Crosby, seconded by Trustee Moody.
