BILLS On a motion by Trustee Crosby, seconded by Trustee Edwards, bills in the amount of $6,621.07 were ordered paid, LIBRARIAN'S REPORT The�Librarian's report was read and accepted. MONTHLY FINANCIAL STATEMENT The fY nancial statement was approved and placed on file. OLD BUSINESS Staff Changes. Staff changes as suggested by the Librarian were discussed and, on a motion byTrustee Crosby, seconded by Trustee Edwards, it was moved that the Junior Librarian `Branch)be promoted to Senior Librarian (Extension Service. ) The Librarian discussed the present state of the Children's Librariants status. He stated that, as the budget was set up, it would be possible to hire a Junior Librarian and retain at 58th time the present Librarian until such time as the Junior Librarian was qualified to assume the position or, if a suitable Senior Librarian or qualified person becomes available, a Senior Librarian may be hired and the present Children's Librarian could be retained until her successor could become familiar with the system. Friends? Reception for the Library. Pres. Cohendet reported that the staff of the library greatly enjoyed the hospitality of Mrs. 1-hiss and Friends of the Library at M,rs. Husst home, 308 Darrell Red., Hillsborough. COMMUNICATIONS A letter was read from Tars. Blumer thanking the library for it's gift of discarded books which she placed in the county prison. A letter addressed to Mrs. Bergsing (Branch Librarian) from Roosevelt School, compli- menting her on the program conducted by the Branch Library for classes from the school, was react. Pres. Cohendet stated that letters received by the Board members from Mayor Mlorcran, requesting that one person from each commission attend sessions of the council, that such was the practice of the Library Board for some time. She also stated that at the last council meeting of June 20th, Mayor Morgan requested that minutes of all meetings be sent to the council. She stated that this had been the practice for many years. NEW BUSINESS It_was move? by Trustee Edwards, seconded by Trustee Crosby, that notices be given to the Civil Service Commission For an examination for Library Assistant, and a promo- tional examination for Senior Librarian.
