RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
AWARDING CONTRACT FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
CITY PROJECT NO. 9948
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, the City prepared and issued extensive specifications and request for bids
pursuant to State and City law; and
WHEREAS, the City received and opened six bids on March 13, 2003; and
WHEREAS, C.W. Roen Contracting Company submitted the apparent low bid for the
project in accordance with the request for bids, and has the experience and qualifications to perform
the work; and
WHEREAS, the project is to be funded in large part by a loan from the California Water
Resources Control Board revolving fund; and
WHEREAS, the Board has provided the City with assurance that the loan has been
approved but is finalizing the loan contract; and
WHEREAS, the City has sufficient unencumbered capital funds available to wind down the
project at an early stage should the loan contract not be finalized or the State suffer a financial
reverse adversely affecting the funding of the loan,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
1. The contract for Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements Project, City Project 9948,
is awarded to C.W. Roen Contracting Company, and the City Manager is authorized and directed to
execute the Agreement with C.W. Roen Contracting Company as generally contained in Attachment
A hereto.
2. The Clerk is directed to attest to the signature of the Manager.

foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 2nd day of
