LIBRARIANIS REPORT
The Librarian's report was read and accepted.
MONTHLY FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The financial statement was approved and placed on file.
OLD BUSINESS
Safe. The Librarian stated that the insurance carrier would provide insurance for the Montgomery-
Ward safe at a cost of about $9.00. He stated that he would order the safe.
Capital Budget. There was a brief review of the committee report and the Librarian was instructed
to proceed with the project sheets and submit them to the City Manager. It was the consensus of
opinion that the purchase of additional property for expansion of the Main library was of paramount
importance.
In answer to the request of Trustee Edwards at the special committee meeting, the Librarian read from
a letter submitted by George V. White, Dist. Supt., in regard to the Branch Mills site, which quoted
the minutes of the Burlingame School Board meeting of October 1958 as follows:
"Motion by Mr. Burns that the School Board
set aside approximately 5,000 square feet at the
southwest corner of the Benjamin Franklin School
site for the Library Board, details to be worked
out later--this area to be reserved for future
library use only--seconded by Mr. Cuneo, and the
vote was unanimous."
It was agreed by those present that the enlargement of the present site of the Main libary should
take precedence over any other library project.
Budget 1961-62. The budget was briefly reviewed and copies of the tentative budget and explanation
thereof are to be included with the minutes.
ADJOURNMENT
On a motion by Trustee Edwards, seconded by Trustee Crosby, the meeting adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
