Trustees Present: Pres. Edwards, Trustee Harrison, Trustee Cohendet, Trustee iioody
The meeting was opened on a motion. by Trustee Cohendet that Try stee Moody be
appointed Pres. protem until Pres. Edwardst arrival. Motion deconded by Trustee
Harrison and carried.
MINUTES
Minutes of the previous meeting of September 19, 1961, were read and approved.
BILLS
On a motion by Trustee Harrison, seconded by Trustee Cohendet, bills in the amount of
x;3,195.777 were ordered paid.

OLD BUSINESS
q T era it i reported that the City Council had approved the -purchase of the
Allsebrook lot for the future use of the library and, that pending this usea;e, the
house will be removed and the lot will be used as a parking lot.

anTno matter what day of the week they fall on they will be allowed.

Trustee Cohendet reported that the Friends of the Library plan to conduct a series of
book reviews on Tuesday mornings as follows:

December 5th ir. Moody
January 9th Dorothy Giberson

CIRCULATION
The circulation increased 3.40," over October 1960. The adult circulation at the Main
lost 2.9'`'; the childrents gained 3-8%t the overall loss at Main 'des 1-6�'- The adult
gain all, the Branch was 10-36,; the cllildr--03 gain was 23.V.; The overall gain at the
Branch was 17.V.,. These are 11-ilterestirt- f 19ureas and I believe reflect somewhat the
management at the Branch.
The total registrations iMin. 11,634 to 12,181 - a totalnof 549. or 4.8 JO
MEETINGS ATTENDED
The Librarian attended all thi %asstans at the CLA Conference in Berkeley. Mrs.
Cohendet, Mrs. BeTgalng, Mr. Flnney as3d Mr. v,!ckltffe attended tuo days, Mrs* Levering,
Miss 'Marrach, MZrS. Smoody and Mrs. tllw-mar, attended one day.
The Librarian attended the C'stholic Library Asenciationgs meeting in Beltwnt as did
Mrs. Cohendet, Mrs. Dergting and Mr. WidklVis.

NEWS NOTES FROM, T,.qE JINENT ZPART14EINT
Much has been dorv-z for triic opearance of the Childrenus Room this past month. Two
r � tebles and chairs have replaced the old ones end, a new book stack added. The readers
ate tzrought up from the minex, and the fiction and JE books "isve all been shifted to make
them vo'ze easily accessible. The yellow nisplay-tex above the shelves has been replaced with
new, and t'M room decoranted for Hallow. en.
In visits to class rooms, about 750 children of the lat, 2nd, and 3rd grades
have been invis--e-C to vise the library and to attend the weekly Story Hours at either the
Main Library eavery Friday afternoon at 4:00 o9cloch or at Easton Drive Branch every Wednes.

Roosevelt School-2 rooms for each grade--visited Easton Drive Branch for book talks and

Bergaing and Mrs. Ter Pay to speak at a meeting honoring the children who participated in
