BURLINGAME PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD
September 18, 1962
Trustees Present: President Moody, Trustee DeMartini, Trustee Harrison.
Trustees Absent: Mr. Lynes was absent because of PTA and Back-to-school night.
MINUTES
Minutes of the previous meeting of August 21, 1962 were read approved.
BILLS
On a motion by Mrs. Harrison, seconded by Mr. DeMartini, bills in the amount of
$3,034.10 were ordered paid.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
The Librarian's report was read and accepted.
MONTHLY FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The financial statement was approved and placed on file.
OLD BUSINESS
Disposition of the Building Next Door. Mr. Moody brought up the fact that the Council
was in the midst of their hearings on the parking district and that some decision should
be forthcoming soon. After some discussion it was agreed that little could be done until
the parking situation is settled.
Salaries. The Librarian presented the comparative salary schedule based to a large extent
on the same cities as used by the State Salary Survey. After a brief discussion the Librarian
was requested to present, in tabular form so that comparisons could be readily made,
Burlingame's last year's salary, present salary and salary requested. On a motion by Mrs.
Harrison, seconded by Mr. DeMartini, the salary question is to be delayed until an adjourned
meeting is held Monday, September 24, 1962.
Branch Site. Mr„DeMartini stated that he believed that the property of the California
Teachers' Association had been sold to a developer as of September 19, 1962. He will further
discuss this with Mr. Lynes and report to the adjourned meeting.
