BURLINGAME PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD
July-15, 1963
Trustees Present: Trustee Harrison, Trustee Cohendet, Trustee Moody, Trustee Lynes
Trustee DeMartini.
Trustees Absent: None.
MINUTES
Minutes of the previous meeting of June 24, 1963 were unanimously approved and were
amended to record that Trustee DeMartini was excused.
BILLS
Un-a motion by Trustee DeMartini, seconded by Trustee Lynes, bills in the amount of
$4,046.91 were ordered paid.
LIBRARIANiS REPORT
The Librariants report was read and accepted.
MONTHLY FINABiCIAL STATEMENT
The financial s atement was approved and placed on file.
OLD BUSINESS
Budget. T e Librarian said that the City Council might possibly consider the budget
at the meeting this evening.
Book Sale. The LibrarianIs report was commented upon in regards to the book sale and
it was moved by Trustee Cohendet and seconded by Trustee DeMartini that the Librarian
i be instructed to write a letter of thanks to the Friends of the Library for their
sustained effort in promoting and carrying through the successful conclusion of the
sale of discarded and duplicate gift books.
Refurbishing the Lions Den at the Branch. The Librarian was asked if a letter of thanks
was sent to the Lions Ulub for their efforts in refurbishing the Lions Den at the
Branch. He stated that no letter had been sent. It was moved by Trustee Cohendet and
seconded by Trustee DeMartini that the Librarian be instructed in writing a letter to
the Lions Club for their efforts in refurbishing the Lions Den.
NF,i BUSINESS
_hang Machines. After a discussion on the new "Dickman-50011 Library Book Charging
Machine System, it was decided that the Librarian should visit the installation at
Oxnard in order to study the functioning of the system which has been so popular in
that public library there for many years. It was moved by Trustee DeMartini and se-
conded by Trustee Lynes .that the Librarian be allowed up to $50 travel expenses. The
motion was carried.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Trustee DeMartini and seconded by Trustee Lynes that the meeting be
adjourned.
