HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Packet - LB - 1964.01.06 AGENDA BURLINGAME PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MEETING OF JANUARY 6, 1964 TRUSTEES PRESENT: TRUSTEES ABSENT: }12v+. ✓'N�it`'"` A SPECIAL MEETING to consider the Parking Commission recommendations to the City Council in regard to the deletion of certain lots on the north side of Burlingame Avenue; to wit, Lot 4A known as the Library Lot, Lot 3A known as the Steinbeck Lot, Lot 5A known as the Donnely Lot, all of Block 3 (Burlingame Land Company). -4 The Parking Commission is recommending the withdrawal of five lots from the Parkin; District, Those directly affocting the Library are Lot 4A, Down as the Library Lot; Lot 3A, known as the S*�V. 1/4 of the Steinbeck Lot; Lou 5A, known as the Donnelly Lot; all of Block 3 (Darlingame Land Company), The Commission is requesting that the Library Lot purchase price be added to the total City contribution, TI-Is is legal as the City can up their total contribution apparently Without a hearing. The Librarian feels that additional parking is not only imperative in order to ameliorate the present situation, but that, in the immedi- ate fature, the construction of an apartment hotel diagonally across the street from the Library will make the situation impossible. The present plans call for an egress to the Library Lot with one-yjay drive across the Steinbeck Lot to the Donnelly Lot, thence to Donnelly Avenue . If and when the extension to the Library building is con- structed, present plans call for parking under the building. Council can change and modify to enlarge assessment district. Council can request a supplemental assessment after a further hearing by the Council. Council can increase their contributionso
