HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin - LB - 1964.03.17 MINUTES OF THE MEETING 0 F THE BURLINGAME PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD March 17, 1964 TRUSTEES PRESENT: Moody, Cohendet, Harrison, DeMartini TRUSTEES ABSENT: Lynes MINUTES: Minutes of the previous meeting of February 17, 1964, were read and approved. BILLS On a motion by Mr. DeMartini, seconded by Mrs. Harrison, bills in the amount of $2,267.33 were ordered paid. LIBRARIAN'S REPORT The Librarian's report was read and accepted. MONTHLY FINANCIAL STATEMENT The financial statement was approved and placed on file. OLD BUSINESS Parking. The Librarian stated that the City Council has not yet resolved the parking situation as regards the deletion of the library lot, the Steinbeck Lot, or the Donnelly House Lot. Demolition of Building. The Librarian stated that as soon as the parking situation is resolved, demolition of the house on the Library Lot will be considered by the City Council. NEW BUSINESS Budget. After considerable discussion of the proposed budget at which time the Librarian pointed out that, without capital expenditures, the probable tax rate would be 20.5¢, it was the concensus of opinion that capital expenditure items which had been previously submitted together with such new items as the library finds necessary, should also be included to the extent of $3,000.00. It was moved by Mrs. Harrison and seconded by Mr. DeMartini that the proposed budget of $157,265.11 as submitted by the Librarian be approved with the addition of $3,000 for capital expenditures. ADJOUkNMENT On a motion by Mrs. Cohendet, seconded by Mrs. Harrison, the meeting was adjourned with the next regularly scheduled meeting set for Tuesday, April 21st.
