DECLARING RESULT OF
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTI
WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election was held in the
City of Burlingame on Tuesday, the 6th day of November, 1979, for
the purpose of voting upon a measure designated "Proposition B"
providing for a system of stabilization and regulation of apart-
ment rents; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly
given as required by law; voting precincts were duly established,
election officers were appointed and voting supplies furnished,
and in every respect and manner the said election was held and
conducted, and the votes cast were received within the time and
manner prescribed by the laws of the State of California con-
trolling elections in general law cities; and
WHEREAS, the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame duly
convened at the usual place on Monday, the 3rd day of December,
1979, to canvass the returns of said election and as a result of
such canvass the said City Council finds that the number of votes
cast and all other matters required by law are as hereinafter
stated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said election
held in the City of Burlingame on Tuesday, the 6th day of
November, 1979, was conducted in the time, manner and form
required by the laws of the State of California governing
elections in general law cities.
That there were twenty-one (21) voting precincts
established for the purpose of holding said election, said pre-
cincts being a consolidation of the regular election precincts
established for holding state and county elections.

That the whole number of votes cast in said consolidated
precincts was 7,438. That the number of votes given at each
precinct and in the City for and against said "Proposition B"
are as set forth in EXHIBIT A attached hereto.
That at said Special Municipal Election said "Proposition
B" did not receive approval of a majority of votes cast and was
therefore not adopted as an ordinance of the City of Burlingame.
I, EVELYN H. HILL, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame,
do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced
at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 3rd day of
December, 1979, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Amstrup, Barton, Crosby, Mangini, Martin.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None

CERTIFICATE OF COUNTY CLERK OF RECORD OF
VOTES CAST AT POLLING PLACES WITHIN THE
CITY OF BURLINGAME AT A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 6, 1979.
In accordance with Resolution No. 61-79 of the City Council of the
City of Burlingame, adopted August 20, 1979, I, MARVIN CHURCH, County Clerk,
do hereby certify that after the closing of the polls at the Special
Municipal Election consolidated with the SPECIAL STATEWIDE CONSOLIDATED
ELECTIONS held on Tuesday, the 6th of November, 1979, within the City of
Burlingame, for the purpose of submitting one measure to the vote of voters,
I caused to have taken off and recorded from the voting machines used at
said Special Municipal Election the record of the votes cast at said polling places
for and against the measure providing for a system of stabilization and
regulation of apartment rent levels, and have filed with the City Council
of said City said record thereof prior to the time when said City Council
was required to canvass the returns of said Special Municipal Election.
I further certify that said record of votes cast at said polling places
for and against the measure is set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth at length.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this %day
of November, 1979.
