NO. 73 - 79
RESOLUTION GRANTING SPECIAL PERMIT
792 WILLBOROUGH PLACE
RESOLVED, by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame
WHEREAS, on August 6, 1979, application was made to
the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame by JOHN M.
WARD, owner of those premises at 792 Willborough Place,
Burlingame (Assessor's Parcel No. 029-053-470); and
WHEREAS, said application requested a special permit
to use a detached existing garage for an activity room for indoor
recreational purposes; and
WHEREAS, said permit was denied by the Planning
Commission following a public hearing upon said application
scheduled and held on August 27, 1979; and
WHEREAS, the applicant filed a timely appeal, and d_
public hearing upon said appeal was scheduled and held by the
City Council on the 17th day of September, 1979;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is ORDERED AND DETERMINED by the
City Council of the City of Burlingame:
1. That the following findings of fact are made
regarding said property:
(a) The application of John M. Ward was for the use
of the detached existing garage, formerly a part of 1125 O
Palm Drive, for an activity room for indoor recreational
purposes, including a new fireplace, bar, refrigerator,
and sink, and without cooking facilities.
(b) The main dwelling upon said property is used
for residential purposes by the applicant and is so
situated as to prevent automobile access to said garage.
2. The granting of the permit applied for will be
in the interests of the health and welfare of the persons using

said dwelling unit and, subject to the conditions hereinafter set
forth,would be in conformity with reasonable and orderly use of
the property.
3. The decision of the Planning Commission is hereby
reversed, and the special permit to convert the existing garage
to an activity room for indoor recreational purposes at 792
Willborough Place is approved subject to the condition that the
proposed improvements be similar to those plans filed with said
application and date stamped August 6, 1979, and that the use
of said building be consistent with the August 5, 1979, letter
from John M. Ward.
4. The Clerk shall cause a copy of this resolution
to be recorded with the County Recorder of the County of San
Mateo.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced
at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the lst day of
October, 1979, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
