RESOLUTION NO.77 80
RESOLUTION CONCURRING IN COUNTYWIDE EXPENDITURE
PLAN UNDER THE STATE SOLID WASTE MANAGEIENT ACT
RESOLVED, by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame,
County of San Mateo, State of California, as follows:
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has
enacted the Solid Waste Management Act (Section 68000 et sea. of
the Government Code) which provides funds to certain entities for
litter cleanup, litter law enforcement, litter education, and
purchase of litter receptacles; and
WHEREAS, said Act allows the total funds allocated for
expenditure within each county to be distributed in accordance
with a plan by the county and the cities approved by the county
board of supervisors and by at least fifty percent (50% of the
cities representing at least fifty percent (50%) of the total
population residing within the cities in the county; and
WHEREAS, an expenditure plan for Fiscal Year 80-81 in
conformance with the Act has now been completed through joint
efforts of the County of San Mateo and the Regional Planning
Committee (RPC) Litter Control Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, on December 1, 1980, the plan has been submit-
ted to this Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this City Council:
1. Concurs in the filing of a countywide application
for funding under the Solid Waste Management Act of 1980;
2. Certifies that it understands and approves the
general provisions of the expenditure plan for the implemen-
tation of a countywide litter control program.
