NOLTE AND ASSOCIATES RESOLVED, by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame, jCalifornia, and this Council does hereby FIND, ORDER and DETERMINE !as follows: 1. The public interest and convenience require execution ,of the agreement cited in the title above. 2. The City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized Ito sign said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Burlingame. i 3. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and instructed to attest such signature. HILL, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, to hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 3rd day of November , 1980, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Amstrup-Barton-Crosby-Mangini-Martin NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None City Clerk CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH CONSTRUCTION OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME SLUDGE HANDLING FACILITIES AMENDMENT NO. 3 The following is an amendment to the agreement dated February 13, 1980, between the CITY OF BURLINGAME, CALIFORNIA and GEORGE S. NOLTE AND ASSOCIATES. The following changes shall be made to the Agreement: 1. On page 2, under "Payment for Services", change the second sentence to read, "The payment under the Cost Plus Fixed Fee method of Contract, is estimated to be $46,888.28 direct labor costs, $78,256.54 indirect costs, $51,436.00 subcontract costs, $2,000 printing, $25,970.09 profit, for a total price of $204,394.90. 2. In Appendix A, add AMENDMENT TO SCOPE OF SERVICES, dated October 1, 1980. 3. In Appendix D, add EPA Form 5700-41 dated October 1, 1980. APPENDIX A AMENDMENT TO SCOPE OF SERVICES October 1, 1980 The Consulting Engineer shall perform those design -related facilities generally described below for the modification of the aeration system at the City's wastewater treatment facilities. 1. Pre -Design Services a. Determine data requirements and arrange for special monitoring to be performed by plant staff. b. Analyze the data received and determine the air requirements of the system. Quantify the difference between the air requirement and the air supplied by the existing equipment. c. Re-evaluate cost-effectiveness of the project when compared to other alternatives evaluated in the initial planning studies done for the project. d. Develop alternative means of providing the additional air required by the system. e. Determine the need for additional aeration basin volume. f. Compare alternative means of providing required aeration system capacity. g. Prepare a report summarizing the findings of tasks 6a through 6f above and recommend a course of action. h. Assist the City in securing approval and funding for the recommended course of action.
