RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE REQUEST OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMIN-
ISTRATION FOR INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF METE-
OROLOGICAL INSTRUMENTATION ON MOUNT SAN BRUNO
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco, the Airline
Pilots Association and other groups, including the San Francisco/
San Mateo Joint Powers Board of Airport Land Use, have agreed
that the provision of more complete and timely weather data at
San Francisco International Airport would enhance and improve the
performance of flight operations impacting adjacent cities; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco has made
application to the Federal Aviation Administration for the
installation and operation of appropriate meteorological instru-
mentation on Mount San Bruno, and
WHEREAS, cities adjacent to San Francisco International
Airport support improvements in San Francisco International
Airport operations and facilities which will reduce noise impact
on any or all said cities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of
Burlingame does hereby endorse and support the application of
South San Francisco for necessary weather instrumentation on
Mount San Bruno and urges the appropriate Federal agencies to
expedite compliance with said request.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of San Mateo
should provide up to twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00)
in advance funding for the project if such funding can accelerate
project completion.

Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
introduced at a regular meeting of the Burlingame City Council
held on the 7th day of April, 1980, and was adopted thereafter
by the following vote:
