Peterson and Company, (aerti-ied Public lccountants under date of I`3rch 27, 1944, made an offer to the Ciit;v of Burlingame to audit the City' e books and accounts for the fiscal year ending: June 30, 1944 and install an a.ccountinr system as heretofore outlined for the public offices of the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of having, the said Charles fl. Peterson and Company perform the work pursuant to the terms as set forth in said letter of Itiarch 27, 1944; NOWj THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the offer of Charles Peterson and Company as set forth in its letter of Larch 27, 1944, to audit the City's books f"or the fiscal -,;ear ending June 30, 1944, and to install the accounting• system, and pursuant to the terms set forth in said letter, be, and the same is hereby accepted. N None ATTT-i�ST CHAS. H. F`PTERSEN & CO. To the Honorable City Council City of 3urlingame, Calif. Dear Sirs: Referring to the audit of your City's books and accounts for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1944, and the accounting system installation as outlined in our Survey issued to you last tall: We will agree to undertake this work for a maximum fee price of 41,000.00; on the basis that we will receive full cooper- ction from the personnel of the City in performance of this work, and in passing on printing, and books purchases, etc. as promptly as possible from time to time so as not to delay us, as and when the data is ready. The cost of printing, forms, binders, etc. are to be paid for by the City of Burlingame, which purchase orders are to be placed by or with the consent of a designated representa- tive of the City Council. It is further understood, that at the completion of the foregoing work, we will submit a record of the days involved in doing the foregoing work, and if the total charge on the basis of �30.00 per day for the writer, and 420.00 per day for any assistants. if any, is less that wl,000.00, the total charge shall be reduced to the lesser figure. The foregoing estimate of 41,000.00 fee is roughly divided w500.00 for the audit and ,�500.00 for the system installation, but at the conclusion of the completed job, any saving of time on one job will be applied to the other and the work merged in computing the total charge. It will be our endeavor to keep the cost= on this work, both as to or time and other costs, down as low as is consistent with a thorough job. It is understood that we will, for our part, have the installation in such form that the books and accounts will be in readiness for use at the beginning of the fiscal year July 1, 1944.
