RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
SUPPORTING ASSEMBLY BILL 1546 ADDRESSING
STORM DRAINAGE AND TRAFFIC CONGESTION MANAGEMENT NEEDS
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY of BURLINGAME that:
WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo and the cities in the County are faced with ever-
increasing regulations by the State and Federal governments for water pollution control measures
without being given any resources from either government to pay for those demands; and
WHEREAS, boththe State and Federal governments have fallenbehind inproviding needed
transportation improvements and now have to rely on the local taxpayers to fund basic congestion
relief measures; and
WHEREAS, Assemblyman Simitian has introduced AB 1546 that would provide a $4 per
vehicle registration fee on each vehicle registered in San Mateo County to be devoted to the storm
water pollution control and congestion management,
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved:
1. The State Legislature is urged to adopt Assembly Bill 1546

foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
7th day of April . 2003, and adopted thereafter by the following vote:
