RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
APPROVING FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH SAN MATEO COUNTY CITY/COUNTY
ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS FOR FUNDS TO SUPPORT A FREE SHUTTLE
BETWEEN THE MILLBRAE BART/CALTRAIN STATION AND
PENINSULA HOSPITAL AND SISTERS OF MERCY CAMPUS
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, the City has contracted for provision of the Free Bee Shuttle between the
Bayfront, Broadway, and Burlingame Avenue Commercial Areas as well as Caltrain and BART
connections to provide ready commuter, citizen, shopper, and student access between worksites,
service providers, and transit locations; and
WHEREAS, the San Mateo County City/County Association of Governments (C/CAG)
provides grant funds through the County Congestion Relief Plan to meritorious programs and an
agreement between the City and C/CAG is required in order to provide the funding necessary for
2003 shuttle between Millbrae BART/Caltrain to Peninsula Hospital and Sisters of Mercy campus,
hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
1. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute the Agreement contained in Exhibit 1

2. The Clerk is directed to attest to the signature of the Uayor.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY/COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS OF SAN MATEO
COUNTY AUTHORIZING THE CHAIR TO EXECUTE AGREEMENTS
WITH THE CITY OF MENLO PARK ($75,000), THE CITY OF
BURLINGAME ($50,000), THE CITY OF HALF MOON BAY ($359000)9
THE CITY OF SAN CARLOS ($135,000), THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY
($38,500), THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO ($34,715), THE CITY OF
EAST PALO ALTO ($23,390), AND THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY
($70,000) TO IMPLEMENT LOCAL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
UNDER THE COUNTYWIDE CONGESTION RELIEF PLAN.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City/County Association of Governments at
its February 14, 2002 meeting approved the Countywide Traffic Congestion Relief Plan; and,
WHEREAS, one component of that Plan was the development and implementation of
Local Transportation Services designed by local jurisdictions; and,
WHEREAS, the C/CAG Board has reviewed the requests for funding by the seven
jurisdictions applying for eight programs and has determined that they are consistent Ah the
Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the C/CAG Board has allocated $500,000 for the implementation of this
program under the Countywide Congestion Relief Plan for fiscal year 2002-03.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the
City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo County that the Chair is authorized to
enter into agreements with the aforementioned local jurisdictions. The agreements shall be in a
form approved by C/CAG Legal Counsel.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED THIS 12TH DAY OF DECEMBER 2002.
