RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
APPROVING A REVISED MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT FOR POTABLE WATER
TRANSFER BETWEEN
THE TOWN OF HILLSBOROUGH AND
THE CITY OF BURLINGAME REGARDING THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame and the Town of Hillsborough have a number of inter-
connections that allowed transfer of potable water between the two agencies; and
WHEREAS, in case of an emergency, disaster, or construction, it is important to establish
the procedures that would be used to share water or other assets to ensure potable water service to
our communities; and
WHEREAS, on September 7, 2004, in Resolution No. 79-2004, the City Council approved
a mutual aid agreement with the Town to support each other's water services during such
occurrences; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to that action, the Town requested a revision to the agreement to
require a receiving party under the agreement to pay full reimbursement for all direct and indirect
costs of providing the emergency water services and supply regardless of any reimbursement by
state or federal funds,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
1. The City Manager is authorized and directed to execute the Agreement attached hereto as
Exhibit A by and on behalf of the City.
2. The Clerk is directed to attest to the signature of the Manager.
3. This resolution supersedes and replaces Resolution No. 79-2004.
