Most of the objections pointed out in the letter to the county libraries were answered and some resolved. There was a general discussion of the salaries of librarians and school teachers. Mr. Hechinger then asked the Librarian when he had received his last raise. Mr. Lechich replied that there had been small raises each year but that the last one of significance was at the time of the salary survey in 1963, at which time the usual differential between the librarian's and the fire chief's and police chief's was changed. The Librarian said that in 1959 the differential was $45 but now it was $150 per month. After considerable discussion, it was moved by Trustee Moody that the tentative budget be accepted as submitted, with the recommendation that the librarian's salary be brought into the same relative relationship as the police chief's and the fire chief's, as existed in 1959. Motion seconded by Trustee Hechinger and carried. ADJOURNMENT On a motion by Trustee Hechinger, seconded by Trustee Moody, the meeting adjourned.
