RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME APPROVING
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
THE CITY OF BURLINGAME, TOWN OF HILLSBOROUGH,
AND FIRE ADMINISTRATORS ASSOCIATION
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame, the Town of Hillsborough, and the Fire Administrators
Association representing certain employees of the Town and the City have met and conferred in good faith
on the terms and conditions of employment as provided by State law; and
WHEREAS, the City, the Town, and the Association have reached agreement on certain changes to
be made to the existing terms and conditions of employment and a new memorandum of understanding
between the City, the Town, and the Association; and
WHEREAS, the proposed changes are fair and in the best interests of the public and the employees
represented by the Association; and
WHEREAS, this memorandum of understanding is another key step in the creation of the Central
County Fire Department, a new joint powers agency, that will enhance fire prevention and protection
services for the City and the Town,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
1. The Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Burlingame, the Town of Hillsborough,
and the Fire Administrators Association as contained in Exhibit A hereto are approved.
2. The City Manager is authorized and directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding
contained in Exhibit A hereto by and on behalf of the City upon execution of the joint powers agreement
forming the Central County Fire Department by the City and the Town.

introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 19tway of April 2004, and was adopted
thereafter by the following vote:
