BURLINGAME PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD
February 19, 1974
CALL TO ORDER:
The regular meeting of the Burlingame Public Library Board was called to order by
Chairman De Martini on the above given date at 7:25 P.M.
ROLL CALL:
Trustees Present: Trustee Cohendet, Trustee De Martini, Trustee Hechinger, Trustee Phelan,
Trustee Lynes
Trustees Absent: None
Also Present: Councilwoman Dorothy Cusick, Burlingame City Council
BILLS:
On a motion by Trustee Hechinger, seconded by Trustee Phelan and unanimously carried,
warrants totaling $7,495.45 were ordered paid. Special Fund bills totaling $1,394.22,
were ordered paid on a motion by Trustee Lynes, seconded by Trustee Hechinger and
unanimously carried.
MINUTES:
Minutes of the meeting of January 15, 1974, were approved as mailed.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT:
The Librarian's Report was read and discussed.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Complimentary letters were received from Mrs. Carolyn Gerk of 2133 Poppy Drive, Burlingame,
and Mrs. Sally Peters of 1452 Benito, Burlingame, regarding the Children's Authors Day.
Both letters stated that the event was very inspiring to parents as well as children and
hoped that the affair would be an annual one.
A thank-you note from the Peninsula Humane Society was received for the use of the Community
Room for their Junior Humane Society meeting.
Ms. Lisa bkrtheimer wanted to express her appreciation for the services she received in
having a book reserved in a letter to the library.
OLD BUSINESS:
Easton Drive Branch: The Librarian presented a detailed sketch of the Easton Drive Branch.
The Librarian stated that this was not the final sketch, however, sketches and estimated
costs should be ready by next month.
Councilwoman Cusick stated that she received many telephone calls regarding the possibility
of Easton Branch being closed, and was happy to inform them that the Easton Drive Branch
Library would be refurbished.
NEW BUSINESS:
In a communication from Mrs. Miriam Dunn, Branch Librarian, thank-you letters to Mrs. Eva
Petersen and Mrs. Carol Bignotti will be drafted. Mrs. Bignotti of 2885 Hillside Drive,
adorns the Branch Library with flowers and plants each week and Mrs. Petersen of 1512 Sanchez
Avenue, decorates the Children's Lions Den with a new poster each month.

ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 P.M. with the next Board meeting scheduled for
March 19, 1974.
