HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin - LB - 1975.01.21 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BURLINGAME PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD January 21, 1975 CALL TO ORDER: The meeting of the Burlingame Public Library Board was called to order by Chairman Hechinger at 5:00 P.M. on the above given date. ROLL CALL: Trustees Present: Trustee Cohendet, Trustee Hechinger, Trustee Lynes, Trustee Phelan Trustees Absent: Trustee DeMartini, excused, business commitment Also Present: Mrs. Patricia M. Bergsing, Assistant City Librarian BILLS: Warrants in the amount of $7,561.82 were paid on a motion by Trustee Phelan, seconded by Trustee Lynes, and carried. Special Fund bills totaling $290.30 were paid on a motion by Trustee Cohendet, seconded by Trustee Lynes, and carried. MINUTES: Minutes of the meeting of December 17, 1974, were approved and ordered filed. LIBRARIAN'S REPORT: Trustee Phelan commented that the Librarian's report on the Branch circulation based on the statistics of the past twenty years was very interesting. The Librarian stated that it will be interesting to observe the Branch's circulation statistics now that the Branch library has been remodeled. CORRESPONDENCE: A letter along with a $50 donation was received from Mr. Charles Delgado, of 413 Howard Avenue, Burlingame. The Librarian noted that this was not the first time Mr. Delgado has made contri- butions to our library. A letter from Dr. Irene Barasch, a veteran patron of our library, was read and discussed. An explanation of Dr. Barasch's letter, written by Mr. Wickliffe, of the Reference Department, was also read. A special thank-you to the Burlingame Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for their gift of an American Flag to the Easton Branch Library. OLD BUSINESS: Easton Drive Branch: Mrs. Bergsing brought the Board up-to-date on the final preparations for the Easton Branch Open House to be held on Sunday, January 26th, from 2 to 5 P.M. The Board commented that Ms. Abby Fredrickson did a splendid job on her article regarding the Easton Branch Library's remodeling and Open House which appeared in the January 21st issue of the Burlingame Villager. NEW BUSINESS: None ADJOURNMENT: As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:55 P.M. with the next Board meeting scheduled for February 18, 1975.
