cJF_EREAS, the Civil Service Commission of the City
has drawn to the attention of the Council that a Petrol Officer
in the Police Department whose duty it is to patrol on a two-
wheeli motorcycle receives additional compensation because
of the specified and hazardous employment; and
WHERESS, the said Civil Service Commission, after
making an investigation of the usage and custom in surrounding
communities, found that it is the common practice to pay extra
compensation for such duty, and recommend that the sum of
815.00 per month additional be paid to the Patrol Officer
assigned to the duty of patroling on a two -wheel motorcycle;
NOW, THMEFORE, BE IT RESOYTED that the sum of :1,15.00
per month be paid to a Patrol Officer of the Police Department,
assigned to the duty of patroling on a two -wheel:' motorcycle,
as long as he continues in that peculiar duty; the said
amount to be considered as extra compensation for the specified
and hazardous employment.
The foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular
meeting of the City Council held on December 4, 1944, and
adopted by the following vote:
