RESOLUTION NO. �74-81
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF SENATE BILL 215
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame
WHEREAS, the Legislature has passed and the Governor has
signed into law Senate Bill 215, which legislation provides for a
two cent gas tax increase and other financial assistance which
will assist the cities and counties of this State in financing
greatly needed transportation improvements; and
WHEREAS, said legislation requires supportive resoluti
from boards of supervisors representing two-thirds of the State's
population,with the exception of Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, said resolutions must be submitted by November
15, 1981, to the Governor for said Senate Bill 215 to become
operative; and
WHEREAS, this City Council wishes to encourage the Board
of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo to adopt such a suppor-
tive resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby ORDERED AND DETERMINED
that the City Council of the City of Burlingame does hereby urge
the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo to pass a
resolution in support of Senate Bill 215 and endorsing the two
cent gas tax increase.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a certified copy of this
resolution is to be sent by the City Clerk to the Board of
Supervisors for presentation to their meeting on Tuesday, October
27, 1981, and that a copy of this resolution shall be sent to
Senator John Foran.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced at
a regular meeting of the Burlingame City Council held on the 19th
day of October, 1981, and was adopted thereafter by the following
