RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BURLINGAME APPROVING AND ORDERING REORGANIZATION
TO DETACH FROM THE CITY OF SAN MATEO AND ANNEX
TO THE CITY OF BURLINGAME A PORTION OF PUBLIC
RIGHT-OF-WAY (.35+ ACRES) - INTERSECTION OF EL
CAMINO REAL, PENINSULA AVENUE AND BARROILHET
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame
as follows:
WHEREAS, there has heretofore been filed with the
Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of San Mateo a
petition for a municipal reorganization to detach from the City
of San Mateo and annex to the City of Burlingame that certain
territory more fully described hereinafter at the intersection
of El Camino Real, Peninsula Avenue and Barroilhet; and
WHEREAS, said proposal was approved by the Local
Agency Formation Commission,and this Council pursuant to the
requirements of law has adopted a resolution initiating pro-
ceedings for said reorganization; and
WHEREAS, said proposal was approved without notice
and hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby ORDERED, DETERMINED and
FOUND as follows:
1. Preliminary proceedings were commenced by petition
under the Municipal Organization Act, Sections 35,000, et sec.,
of the Government Code, the chief petitioners being the City of
San Mateo and the City of Burlingame.
2. The affected cities are San Mateo'and Burlingame.
3. The change of organization proposed is the
detachment of the subject area from the City of San Mateo and
its annexation to the City of Burlingame.

4. The reason for the reorganization as described in
the proposal is to simplify police and maintenance assignments
between the Cities of San Mateo and Burlingame.
S. There were no terms or conditions of the proposed
reorganization contained in LAFCo's Resolution No. 638 making
determinations upon the proposal except to assign it the short
form designation: "Reorganization of a portion of the public
right-of-way to detach from San Mateo and annex to Burlingame
(.35+ acres) pursuant to Government Code Section 35200."
6. The description of the boundaries of the area
involved in such change of organization is more particularly
set forth in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and by reference made a
part hereof.
7. There were no written protests filed regarding
said reorganization, all of the real property involved being
rights -of -way at the intersection of E1 Camino Real, Peninsula
Avenue and Barroilhet Avenue.
8. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 35,308 of
the Government Code, this Council does hereby order said
reorganization.
9. The City Clerk shall transmit a certified copy
of this resolution, along with the necessary fees, to the
Executive Officer of the San Mateo County Local Agency Formation
Commission, to the County Assessor, and to the Clerk of the
Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced
at a regular meeting of the Burlingame City Council held on the
5th day of October, 1981, and was adopted thereafter by the
following vote:

TO THE CITY OR BURLINGA?
1. Beginning at an angle point in the City of Burlingame's boundary that is the
intersection of the centerline of Peninsula Avenue with the korthwesterl-.i
prolongation of the Northeasterly curb line of El Camino Real, as said curb
line existed on July 19, 1915; said curb line being parallel with and 14 feet
distant Southwesterly from the Northeasterly line_ of El Camino Real; thence,
2. Along said boundary of the City of Burlingame, Southeasterly along said Dro-
longation to its intersection with the Southeasterly line of Peninsula Avenue
prolonged Southwesterly; thence,
3. Continuing along said boundary, Southwesterly at right angles to E1 Canino
Real to the centerline of E1 Canino Real (1915); thence,
4. Continuing along said boundary, Southeasterly along said centerline to the
intersection of the centerline of Barroilhet Avenue and a point in Corporate
limits of San Mateo; thence,
5. Northeasterly along said San Mateo corporate limits and said centerline of
Barroilhet Avenue prolonged to its intersection with the Southwesterly line
of Lot 9, Block 1 of the "Map of Central Addition to San Mateo" recorded
July 24, 1906 in Volume 4 of Maps, Page 27, San .Mateo County Records; thence,
6. Northwesterly along said Southwesterly line -of Lot 9 to the most Southeasterly
point of that certain property granted by deed to the City of San Mateo by the
San !Mateo Grarmar School District and recorded September 6, 1935 in Book. 655,
Page 411 of Official Records of San Mateo County; thence,
7. Northwesterly along a tangent curve as described in said deed to a point of
tangency in said Southwesterly line of. Lot 9; thence, -
B. Northwesterly along said Southwesterly line and its prolongation to the inter-
section with the centerline of Peninsula Avenue being the common boundary
between the City of San Mateo and the City of Burliraane; thence,
9. Along said common boundary, Southwesterly along said centerline to the point
of beginning.
