RESOLUTION ESTABLISIIING 1981-82 APPROPRIATION
LIMIT FOR CITY OF BURLINGAME PURSUANT TO
ARTICLE XIII B OF THE CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame
I
that:
WHEREAS, in November, 1979, the State voters approved
Proposition 4, the Gann Appropriation Limit Initiative, which
states that beginning July 1, 1980, all state and local govern-
ment budgets are limited to a formula based upon the 1976-79
budget, plus adjustments for cost of living and population
changes, and specific exceptions for service charges, federal
and state grants, reserve funds, etc.; and

WHEREAS, the State Legislature has adopted SB 1352
(Chapter 1205, Statutes of 1980) implementing Article XIII B of
the California Constitution; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the above the City of
Burlingame has prepared documentation establishing our 1981-82
jappropriation limit, and has made this documentation available
to the public for more than 15 days in the proposed "budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby RESOLVED as follows:

1. For 1981-82 the City's appropriation limit is
$17,706,437;
2. The Adopted Budget for 1981-82 includes $10,530,724
in appropriations which are subject to limit, and estimates pro-
ceeds of taxes of $8,811,000;

3. For 1981-82 the City of Burlingame is within the
limits of Article XIII B of the California Constitution.
