HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 017-1981RESOLUTION NO.17 - 81 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME APPROVING AND ORDERING REORGANIZATION TO DETACH FROM THE CITY OF MILLBRAE AND ANNEX TO THE CITY OF BURLINGAME CERTAIN TERRITORY DESCRIBED AS THE 2100 BLOCK OF TROUSDALE DRIVE RESOLVED, by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame as follows: WHEREAS, there has heretofore been filed with the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of San Mateo a petition for a municipal reorganization to detach from the City of Millbrae and annex to the City of Burlingame that certain territory herein- after more fully described, known as the 2100 block of Trousdale Drive; and WHEREAS, said proposal was approved by the Local Agency Formation Commission,and this Council pursuant to the requirements of law has adopted a resolution initiating proceed- ings for said reorganization; and WHEREAS, a hearing has been held at which time written proteststo said reorganization were filed and heard; NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby ORDERED, DETERMINED and FOUND as follows: 1. Preliminary proceedings were commenced by petition under the Municipal Organization Act, Sections 35,000, et seq., of the Government Code, the chief petitioners being Coleen Woolf, 2180 Trousdale Drive, Millbrae, C. Don O'Donnell, 2186 Trousdale Drive, Millbrae, and Linda Diller, 2176 Trousdale Drive, Millbrae. 2. The affected cities are Millbrae and Burlingame. 3. The change of organization proposed is the detach- ment of the subject area from the City of Millbrae and its annexa- tion to Burlingame. 3/12/81 11 1 4. The reason for the reorganization as described in the proposal is to comply with the sphere of influence as deter- mined by LAFCo. 5. There were no terms or conditions of the proposed reorganization contained in LAFCo's Resolution No. 626, making determinations upon the proposal, except to find the area to be inhabited and to assign it the short form designation: Reorganiza- tion of the 2100 Block of Trousdale Drive (4.45+ acres) Involving Detachment from Millbrae and Annexation to Burlingame. 6. The general description of the boundaries of the area involved in such change of organization is: All parcels on the northerly side of the 2100 block of Trousdale Drive bearing the street numbers 2100 to 2186 Trousdale Drive, inclusive_ (Assessor's Parcel Nos. 025-102-110 to 025-102-200, inclusive, and Assessor's Parcel Nos. 025-094-080 to 025-094-130, inclusive). 7. The specific description of said area is set forth in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. 8. Written protests filed and not withdrawn regarding said reorganization have a value of less than 25 percent of the registered voters within said territory and less than 25 percent of the number of owners of land who also own less than 25 percent of the total assessed value of land within said territory. 9. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 35,307(c) of the Government Code, this Council does hereby order said reorgan- ization without election. 10. The City Clerk shall transmit a certified copy of this resolution, along with necessary fees, to the Executive Officer of the San Mateo County Local Agency Formation Commission, to the County Assessor, and to the Clerk of the Board of Super- visors of the County of San Mateo.
