HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 097-2006RESOLUTION NO. 97-2006 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PARKS & RECREATION TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH ROSS RECREATION TO INSTALL SAFETY AND ADA IMPROVEMENTS TO THE VILLAGE PARK PLAYGROUND RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame: WHEREAS, Public Contracts Code requires the City Council authorization if the City is to purchase of materials or services when a single source is being sought; and WHEREAS, Village Park Playground requires alteration of the playground equipment so that it complies with safety standards of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and access standards under the Americans with Disabilities Act; and WHEREAS, by modifying the existing equipment, these standards can be met without the need to remove the existing equipment or purchase additional equipment, and the modifications can be made promptly and at a reasonable price; and WHEREAS, Ross Recreation, the original supplier of the existing equipment, is able to make these modifications and is the only certified installer in the are capable of making these modifications; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to use Ross Recreation to modify the existing equipment at Village Park Playground, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED: 1. The Director of Parks & Recreation is authorized and directed to negotiate and execute an agreement with Ross Recreation in standard City form to install modifications to the playground equipment to comply with CPSC and ADA standards. 2. The City Clerk is directed to attest to the signature of the Director.
