HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin - LB - 1976.08.17 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BURLINGAME PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD August 17, 1976 CALL TO ORDER: The meeting of the Burlingame Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Vice Chairman Phelan at 5:01 P.M. ROLL CALL: Trustees Present: Trustee Cohendet, Trustee DeMartini , Trustee Hechinger, Trustee Phelan Trustees Absent: Trustee Lynes, excused, out-of-town on business BILLS: Warrants in the amount of $7,281 .23 were paid on a motion by Trustee DeMartini , seconded by Trustee Hechinger, and carried by those Trustees present. Special Fund bills totaling $60.42 were ordered paid on a motion by Trustee Cohendet, seconded by Trustee DeMartini . MINUTES: Minutes of the meeting of July 27, 1976 were approved and ordered filed. LIBRARIAN'S REPORT: Charging systems and computerized charging systems were briefly discussed. Trustee Cohendet asked about the Summer Reading Club. The Librarian reported that the party for those completing the club had been held today and a complete report of the activities - would be submitted at the next Board meeting. CORRESPONDENCE: A letter addressed to the Librarian from Ms. Naomi J. Glasson, 1380 Oak Creek Drive, Palo Alto, California, was read to the Board. Ms. Glasson expressed her appreciation for the help of Mrs. Dorothy Morris, Interlibrary Loan Services, in locating hard-to-get books for her group in Burlingame, who have been preparing for the licensing exam in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling. OLD BUSINESS: Air Conditioning: The Librarian reported that the new recommendations were reviewed and discussed by the City Council at their last meeting. 1976-1977 Fiscal Year Budget: Librarian Lechich anticipates that the new library budget (except the additional CETA position) will be approved at the special meeting next week. NEW BUSINESS: None ADJOURNMENT: The Board meeting was adjourned at 6:00 P.M. with the next meeting scheduled for September 21 , 1976. Respectfully submitted, George Paul Lechich Clerk of the Board
