HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 065-2007RESOLUTION NO. 65-2007 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME TO ADOPT THE 2007 CITY OF BURLINGAME/TOWN OF HILLSBOROUGH EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame: WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Area Office of Emergency Services contracted with Emergency Management Consultants to update the San Mateo County Emergency Operations Plan (EOP); and WHEREAS, this was accomplished in part with a grant provided through the US Department of Homeland Security; and WHEREAS, the local municipal version of the plan was made available to the City of Burlingame; and WHEREAS, this plan has been edited to meet the needs of the City of Burlingame and the Town of Hillsborough, operating together through a single Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as well as being consistent with Homeland Security Presidential Directive - 5 (HSPD-5), the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the California Emergency Management System (SEMS), and Incident Command System (ICS) requirements; and WHEREAS, e ach o f t he c ities r etains t heir a uthority i n d eating w ith e mergencies b ut will be operating in an efficient, cost effective manner to provide the best services possible with available resources; and WHEREAS, once adopted all EOC staff will be trained in its use followed by regular exercises to maintain the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to deal with disastrous events. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED: 1.
